Spending my free time hiking through places long forgotten by people, I have visited many abandoned Latvian manors and castles.

Although the teeth of time have gnawed away almost everything there, and very little remains of their former glory, in almost every one of these ancient buildings, you can still find some evidence of past splendor - on the plaster of window sills, in arches or elsewhere, where water and sun have not yet managed to eradicate the ancient testimony.

These are usually small fragments that do not form a complete picture, but I like them very, very much.

In the concrete vessel collection "Fragments of Antiquity", I have embedded this feeling of the survival of past splendor both in the concrete itself and in the special foil leaf decoration, giving the metallic shine the marks of the teeth of time.
