Candle from the "Batiked" collection
Where there are children, there is a process of discovering the world! About ten years ago, when my daughters were preteens, they found instructions somewhere online for tie-dyeing at home using a bathroom grout mold remover, fabric dyes, and a fork. I was at the theater rehearsing a play that day. My daughters called and, knowing I couldn't talk for long during rehearsals, quickly asked if they could use my cotton clothes for tie-dyeing. I said yes, thinking it would be just a couple of T-shirts. When I got home, I discovered that everything cotton in my wardrobe had been sacrificed to the god of tie-dye. Most of my clothes now shimmered in lovely shades of orange, purple, yellow, pink, and light blue. Even today, the tie-dyed T-shirts and jeans are my standard work clothes at my summer workshop near Alūksne. The “Batiked” collection is my story about children's desire to discover the world and the material resources parents provide to make that discovery possible. And, yes, about the smile that appears every time I put on another tie-dyed shirt.

You can see all the works in the "Batiked" collection here! The images show prototypes of the collection's pieces. Each candle is made according to the collection's special recipe, but each is also a unique handmade piece, so the container's design may differ slightly from the one shown.
Candles in concrete containers have an excellent feature: as the candle burns, the container walls heat up and help the flame melt the wax, so the candle always burns completely without leaving a layer of unburned wax on the walls. The base of the candle container is thick enough to prevent it from heating up and damaging the surface it rests on. If you are still concerned that the container might damage the surface, you can buy candle holders with a heat-resistant oak veneer coating in the "Candle Holders" section. Once the candle has burned out, you can easily refill the container yourself with a new candle by purchasing palm wax granules in a 200-gram package from the "Loose Candles" section. One package will let you refill the container three times. The package includes two types of wicks and instructions for making the candle. Of course, once the candle has burned out, you can also place any ready-made candle that fits inside the container, or use it for other household purposes, such as a vase. The concrete container is not suitable for storing unpackaged food.
Delivery options and costs are listed in the "Terms" section.
Technical product information. On first use, burn the candle until the entire top layer of wax has melted (1–4 hours, depending on the container's diameter and the number of wicks). Before relighting, trim the wicks to 1 cm above the wax surface.
