Candle from the "Grandmothers" collection
Every now and then, conversations with friends and colleagues turn to a rather interesting topic – grandmothers. What makes it interesting is the special name or combination of words each family uses for its grandmothers in everyday life. In my parents’ extended family, four names come up in conversation – Luguži Grandma, Gulbene Grandma, Palsmane Grandma and Gaga (Gaga proudly bore this beautiful name for much longer than the world-famous musician Lady Gaga). Although each followed a different path in life and their personalities were not alike, they all had the true decency of a Latvian. And to me, that decency is expressed by a warm shade of grey. Time passes and memories begin to fade, but the decency they gave us all lives on beyond time. From love of the land to caring for our health, and from patterned mittens to carefree summers by the Gauja River... And above all, an immense love. Thank you, my dears! Here is a collection for all four of you, with your distinct personalities reflected in the shapes of the vessels and the shared warm tone of Latvian decency...

You can see all the pieces in the "Grandmothers" collection here! The images show prototypes of the collection’s pieces. Each candle is made according to the collection’s special formula, but each is also a unique handmade piece, so the vessel’s design may differ slightly from the one shown.
Candles in concrete vessels have an excellent feature: as the candle burns, the vessel’s walls heat up and help the flame melt the wax, so the candle always burns completely without leaving a layer of unburned wax on the walls. The base of the candle vessel is made thick enough to prevent it from overheating and damaging the surface beneath it. If you are still concerned that the vessel might damage the surface it rests on, you can buy candle holders with a heat-resistant oak veneer coating in the "Candle Holders" section. Once the candle has burned down, you can easily refill the vessel yourself with a new candle by purchasing a 200-gram pack of palm wax granules in the "Granulated Candles" section. One pack lets you refill the vessel four times. It includes two types of wicks and instructions for making a candle. Of course, once the candle has burned down, you can also place any ready-made candle that fits inside the vessel, or use it for other household purposes, such as a vase. The concrete vessel is not suitable for storing unpackaged food.
Delivery options and costs are listed in the "Terms" section.
Technical product information. On the first burn, let the candle burn until the entire top layer of wax is liquid (1–4 hours, depending on the vessel’s diameter and the number of wicks). Before relighting, trim the wicks to 1 cm above the wax surface.
